CSPN Executive Board

In case you ever wondered about the leadership behind the College Savings Plans Network, here’s your opportunity to see who they are and how long they have served.  The CSPN Executive Board meets monthly to conduct business on behalf of the membership.

The CSPN Executive Board is nominated and elected annually at an all-member meeting.  The 2013 CSPN Executive Board was elected on December 18, 2012.  According to CSPN Bylaws, officers serve one year terms; at-large board members serve two year terms; and the Corporate Affiliate representative serves until the Corporate Affiliate committee replaces him/her. The following is a breakdown of the current Board members and terms.

Officers

Hon. Michael L. Fitzgerald, Chair
Iowa State Treasurer
The Chair position is a one year term, that can be re-elected once (two years total).  This is the second one-year term for Treasurer Fitzgerald.

Betty Lochner, Vice Chair

Director, Washington Guaranteed Education Tuition
The Vice Chair position is also a one year term, that can be re-elected once (two years total).  This is the second one-year term for Betty Lochner.  She will be nominated to serve as the Chair beginning in 2014.  Betty has been a board member since 2008.

Mary Morris, Treasurer

Chief Executive Officer, Virginia529
Mary is serving the first of two one-year terms, she has been a board member since 2010.

Joan Marshall, Past Chair

Executive Director, College Savings Plans of Maryland
Joan served as Chair from January 2010 to December 2011 and currently chairs the CSPN Federal Initiatives Committee. She has been a board member since 2007.

Alabama State Treasurer
Young is currently completing the first of two two-year terms.

Jeff Coghan, Chair, CSPN Corporate Affiliate Committee
AVP – Hartford Mutual Funds
Jeff has been a Board member since 2012.

James DiUlio
Director, Wisconsin 529 College Savings Program

Jim is currently completing the first of two two-year terms. He is the Co-Chair of the CSPN Member Engagement committee and has been a Board member since 2012.

Hon. Ron Estes

Kansas State Treasurer
Ron is starting the first of two two-year terms on the Board.

Hon. Lynn Fitch

Mississippi State Treasurer
Lynn is starting the first of two two-year terms on the Board.

Kathleen McGrath

Director, PA 529 College Savings Program
Kathleen is completing the first of two two-year terms. She is the chair of the CSPN Legal & Regulatory Affairs committee and has served on the Board from 2000-08 and 2012-13.

Paul Paeglis

Executive Director, Ohio Tuition Trust Authority
Paul is starting the first of two two-year terms on the Board.

Hon. Rich Sattgast

South Dakota State Treasurer
Rich is currently completing the first of two two-year terms. He also serves as the Chair of the CSPN Partnership Committee.

Lynne Ward

Executive Director, Utah Educational Savings Plan
Lynne is starting the first of two two-year terms on the Board. She is the Co-Chair of the CSPN Member Engagement committee and has been a Board member since 2009.
